The Unit Five Education Association began participation with the CEC (Consortium for Educational Change) nearly two years ago. 

As we proceed through this process with the Board of Education and the Administration, we will post updates and important information here.  Please stop by often and look for the UFEA Updates in your email for more information as well.

CEC's MISSION

The mission of the Consortium for Educational Change, a network of Illinois School districts and professional organizations, is to improve student achievement by assisting member districts and schools to become collaborative, high performing organizations.

CEC's Strategic Objectives

• Deepen membership's vision and understanding around systemic change and a continuous improvement framework

• Broaden membership skills, strategies, tools, and processes around CEC's Emerging Curriculum: Collaborative Culture, Best Practices and Information & Analysis

• Support and accelerate each other's learning

The Consortium is unique because of all its planning functions, services, and activities derive from these stakeholders: school board members, teachers, administrators, support staff, parents, community members, and increasingly, students.

The Consortium assists and supports districts and schools as their organizations go through the process of systemic change in order to improve teaching and student achievement.

The Consortium is a statewide effort that includes over fifty member districts and partners all working together to make a positive change in teaching and student achievement.

CEC's Definition of a High Performing System

CEC has developed a definition of high performing system. This definition is based on CEC Emerging Curriculum, The Baldrige Continuous Improvement Framework, Professional Learning Communities Concepts, and the Effective Schools Research.  Find out more ...
